Fabian Westerwelle is the director of news acquisition at ABC News, overseeing all field transmission coordination and planning, as well as live streaming operations. Currently, he is working on a new newsroom collaboration tool with the goal of transforming how ABC News communicates and organizes resources.
Westerwelle joined ABC News full-time in 2008, implementing a system to support the Logistics Desk, a crew request and tracking system. From 2010 to 2014, he served as the manager of logistics at the ABC News bureau in Washington. From 2014 to 2016, he was the senior manager of the ABC News Acquisition Center in New York.
Westerwelle started his television career as a freelance news assistant at CNN and an operations freelancer at ABC News. He is a graduate of Syracuse University.
